About 10 million immigrants from Europe settled in the Unites States between 1860 and 1890. Mostly, all of them were from northern and western Europe, which was common for most immigrants. Immigrants began to come to United States: Greeks, Slavs, Armenians, and Jews from various countries. Most of them settled in the Northeast, that was dominated by the Irish and Italians.

Urbanization is the process of which rural communities grow to form cities, or urban centers, by extension makes the growth and expansion happen in those cities. Most immigrants had a hard time adjusting to american culture, due to terrible smell in the city, horrible working conditions, the chance to change working conditions and get better wages.

William Magear Tweed "boss". Boss of Tammany Hall that played a big role in politics of the 19th Century in New York and State. Tweed was the third largest landowner in New York. He did not like the idea of people coming into the United States. Later on, he was put in jail for wasting money on the city, he later escaped and was returned back to custody, then he died in the jail.
